We slept well at the Banbua Grand Udon in Udon Thani. Pai's stomach problems seem to be getting less.
The breakfast is well organized and extensive. There is even good hearty bread, cheese and cold cuts and the coffee tastes good too.

After breakfast we will do what we drove to Udon Thani for, namely visit Pia's friend, who has been in the hospital for a month with quite serious symptoms. This friend is the first Thai friend that Pia met when she came to live in Apeldoorn.
We drive to her house, which we find quite easy because we have been there before. We are shocked, the friend has lost a lot of weight and, logically, after being in the hospital for a month, she can hardly walk. But she and her husband say there is progress. They are already making plans to go to Italy for a wedding next year.
Fortunately, later, when we are back in the Netherlands, this progress appears to continue.

When we get back to the hotel we go to a large shopping center, Central Plaza; it's very hot outside and not fun to walk around. We walk around the shopping center, see a lot, but we're not actually looking for anything. There is a kind of market where organic products are sold and there we buy various types of sambal to take with us to the Netherlands.

We go for a drink again at Brick House Inn, just like yesterday Guinness and white wine. Then we decide to stay for dinner, there are a lot of people eating and it looks tasty.
We order two stews, Pia with lamb, Tom with beef, and it looks good and tastes good too, much better than we dared to hope.
